5 Stunning Proofs that Personal Growth Boosts Complete Wellness

Do you truly want complete wellness in your Life?

Personal growth is about constantly improving yourself, including working toward better wellness. I am always working towards this as, wellness is not just about your physical self but about your mental, emotional, social welfare, and wellness of the Spirit, its every aspect of your life, even including improving your diet.  Personal growth is what allows you to reach new levels of happiness, and helps you grow, which leads to your complete wellness and satisfaction.

Indeed, the entire personal development process is dedicated to transforming parts of your life to make improvements in your physical, intellectual, spiritual, emotional, or social state. It is the process that guides and determines your overall wellness, and that process is an exciting journey of learning.

Don't wait until something critical or traumatic takes place, and life gets in your way and you just don't have time (this has happened to me)  and then realize that improvements are necessary for you to improve your life. By deciding to engage in personal growth and development now, you are making a decision to improve one or more aspects of your happiness and complete wellness.

Personal growth is about enhancing your habits by growing, so that you can be the best version of yourself that you possibly can. Your overall wellness is the accumulation of all your daily habits that lead to your fitness and stability in all the many areas of your life. Therefore, your  growth directly contributes to your  wellness in many ways.

Here are just five ways

Five Ways Personal Growth Can Improve Your Complete Wellness, by just learning to grow, improves your overall wellness.

#1. Personal Growth Improves Your Self-Awareness, it makes you aware of what is around you.

Personal Growth Improves Your Self-Awareness

Working on your personal development means you first must give an honest assessment of your life to determine where you need to make adjustments or improvements. It's not easy to do this and you have to be totally honest with yourself.  This process forces you to get to know yourself, which enhances your self-awareness. By being more aware of your habits, and downfalls triggers, strengths, and weaknesses, you can determine your goals for self-improvement and growth that will lead to yourcomplete wellness in the future.

#2. Personal Growth is About Making Choices in Life, are you making the right choices.

What choices do you want to make, what changes do you want to change?

Your complete wellness is determined by the compilation of the daily decisions you make related to your health, mental, social, and emotional choices. You can make decisions based on past habits, or you can choose to change some of those behaviors in favor of ones that are better for your well-being. Personal growth is all about deciding which choices are right for you and, when needed, learning to make better ones. Yes, my past habits was a huge influence for me to change, I had to, it was a live or die situation.

#3. Personal Growth is About Developing Your Strengths, but also understanding your weaknesses.

When determining your personal development goals, you should focus not only on improving your weaknesses but also building your strengths. By focusing on building areas where you already have competence, you can reach your full potential in any area of your life. Your wellness depends on these strengths to support you in healthy and productive ways.

#4. Personal Growth Focuses on your Body, Mind, and Spirit,

mind body and spirit

Personal growth and complete wellness focus on all aspects of being a human, including the health and well-being of your body, mind, and soul. Meditation is something that we should all be doing every day

Using Meditation To Improve Your Focus And Concentration

We hear it all the time but what does it actually mean?

Just last week I was at the gym (I am 65 and work out at F45 Functional training 5 mornings a week). There is a programme called MVP where you have to go as hard as you can on the rower for 60 seconds. I have only been going to the gym for 18 months, I had told my son, Kane I wanted to do this.

I was a bit tired that day plus it was the second round which made me worse but Kane said "you can do it mum" (he is the owner of the gym)

So I focused, I concentrated on what I had to do, I actually closed my eyes and went for it, I finished 4 seconds short, just couldn't pull any more, thought I was going to be sick. But I did it 274 metres in 60 seconds and I took out half of the young ones. You think I felt good, too right I did, I achieved something I didn't think I could do.

It's the same thing as when you are supposed to be keeping your attention on something, let’s say a video game for example, and you are so close to completing the level or attaining the goal, or finishing the race in first place, you think to yourself ‘focus, I can do this’.

When your teacher asked you to answer a maths problem and you’re trying hard to figure it out but your friend keeps poking you in the side under the table, you start to giggle and forget the teacher for a second who shouts ‘Concentrate!’

But what exactly are these two words trying to get us to do?

Let’s have a look and see if we can figure it out together.

Focustrate, yes this is my new word, two for one

When we keep our attention on something to the exclusion of everything else, we are said to be concentrating or focusing on that thing. Essentially both of these terms refer to the same action of the mind, it really is doing the same thing. When we meditate, we focus or concentrate on our breath and our body.

When we play golf we focus on having the right alignment of our bodies, and we concentrate on the ball to ensure that we hit it correctly.

The thing about focustration though, that not a lot of people are aware of, is that it can be developed, it can be improved and it can be enhanced. It does take practice but you can learn it, I did. I have walked over hot coals, bent a fork with my mind, and jumped off a 50ft pole into fresh air (I was in a harness). We don't utilize our brain enough, It is so powerful.

Training Your Ability To Focus And Concentrate, it's not that hard.

The art and science of meditation is something that we can use to further enhance our ability to keep our mind concentrated on a particular task. When we initially learn how to meditate, we are introduced to the simple practise of watching our breath. By concentrating on your breathing you are forgetting everything else, this is meditation.

We learn to sit still and focus on our breath and the breathing motions of the body. When we do this, most of us, initially find it very difficult to do, I did when I first started, I found it hard to turn my mind off.

Our thoughts race and we constantly lose track, ending up lost in thoughts either about whether or not we are doing it right, or as has been the case with me personally, what my next job is that I have to do.

At first, we are hopeless when it comes to having enough concentration to stay focused on our breath without losing track, yes it does take practice, but well worth it once you master it.

It is possible to train our ability to remain focused for longer periods of time. By practising meditation and watching our breath, in a regular programme of discipline, practising repeatedly and again, we slowly enhance our capacity to remain focused on the body and our breath.

Just like anything else in life, the more we practise the better we get. Therefore, if we find it difficult at first, all we have do to is refer to the timeless saying.

If At First You Don’t Succeed, Do It Again, And Again, And Again

With  meditation, it is by far one of the best practises to use to enhance concentration ability because it places emphasis on keeping the attention situated on the body and our breath, or the environment that we are in. It does not require any special equipment or circumstances to practise and so you can cultivate this ability anywhere and everywhere.

It encourages us to remain present by keeping our mind clear. The effects of this are infinitely positive, not just regarding concentration and focus development, but also regarding lowering our stress levels, overcoming anxieties, facing our fears, finding greater peace, the list goes on and on. I find after meditation I am able to move forward stress free onto my tasks at hand without getting overwhelmed.

Learn to meditate, improve your ability to concentrate and focus, and encourage the development of inner peace in your body, mind, and spirit. An all-round winner, wouldn’t you agree?

#5. Personal Growth Builds Your Confidence, you stand tall.

Believe in Yourself

When you work on improving areas of your life, you begin to feel more confident. This success usually leaves you feeling like you can achieve even more goals or gain new skills, which leads to further personal development goals. The more you keep developing yourself in aspects of your life, the more confidence you will have that you can accomplish anything you set your mind toward. Stepping out of your comfort zone, yes it is uncomfortable by it feels so good when you do it, and achieve it, you are flying.

My Final Thoughts

You have the power to change your life, the direction in which it is heading, we all can feel dissatisfied with life from time to time and the outcome by making changes in your habits and behaviors. Personal growth is the pathway to complete wellness in every aspect of your life.

This is why I have made it my mission to grow, learn and move forward, then teach and inspire people to do the same.

Enjoy and love life as you only get one.
