Healthy Kids Snacks

Finding Healthy Kids Snacks can be challenging for parents, here are some snacks for them to eat.

Kids love eating, and finding healthy kids' snacks can be challenging for parents.

We're busy and constantly on the go, and so are our kids.

We want quick and easy snack ideas and we want them to be healthy as well as delicious, that's the only way to get the kids eating them.

Here are some simple and fun kids snacks that your child is sure to love.

Once they've tried them, they'll be begging mum for these snacks every day, without even realizing they are eating healthy!

ABC Grilled Cheese Mini Sandwiches

There's no better way to incorporate snack time, healthy eating, fun and learning than making these delicious ABC mini grilled cheese sandwiches.

All you need is:

  • Alphabet shaped cookie cutters (you can purchase these at your local arts and crafts store)

  • Wheat bread slices

  • Low fat cheese slices

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.

While it is heating, place the cheese slices in between two wheat bread slices and set them on a cookie sheet.

Once the oven is fully heated, place the cookie sheet containing your sandwiches inside and let them cook until the cheese is completely melted.

Carefully remove the cookie sheet and allow the sandwiches to cool down, then have a blast cutting the sandwiches into squares and then into letters of the alphabet!

Banana and Pickle People

A simple healthy snack that's sure to be lots of fun for your kids is making banana and pickle people.

All you need are bananas or pickles (you can also use cheese sticks, carrots or an assortment of other foods) and side dishes of decorative foods to help your child create an edible "person".

Some great ideas are semi sweet chocolate chip morsels, pretzels (for use as arms and legs), frosting's, dips and sprinkles.

Let your child's creativity guide them and they'll soon be guiding their tasty "banana men" and "pickle people" straight to their tummies!

Tootie Fruity Tofu Smoothie

  • 1 cup of fresh or frozen berries

  • 1 banana

  • 4 oz. nonfat fruit-flavored yogurt

Fruit Kebabs

Your kids are sure to delight in eating this fruity variation of the ordinary meat kebab.

They can even help mum make this healthy snack!

To make your kebabs, you'll need:

  • Apples (cut into wedges)

  • Marshmallows (5-6 per skewer)

  • Jar of Creamy Peanut Butter

  • Bananas (cut into 1 inch slices)
